Fitness has always been a catalyst for change in my life. As a child, I was overweight, bullied and struggled with self-esteem. In middle school, I decided to become active in volleyball, basketball and softball and quickly fell in love with sports and training. As I began to have fun, the weight began to fall off. I continued to play sports throughout high school and college, and fitness even gave me the confidence to obtain my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. I knew I wanted to help others with a healthy lifestyle that prevented chronic health issues and to truly inspire others to find what makes them feel proud and unstoppable.
After college, I worked full-time as an RN in the Intensive Care Unit, but enjoyed working out at a gym to release the stress that came along with an intense career. After a group exercise class one day, I was approached by the staff who noticed my positive energy and asked if I would consider becoming an instructor. At first, I was self-conscious and nervous, but I gave it my all, and the rest was history! I began teaching kickboxing and strength training classes and as my classes began to quickly fill to capacity, I finally started to believe in myself and my ability to inspire others.
When I met my husband, who is from Ontario, Canada, and decided to move to Canada from Pennsylvania, one of my needs was to be able to find a a gym that carried my fitness classes. I knew fitness has to move with me no matter where I lived!
Craving variety and flexibility, in 2011, I became certified by the American Council of Exercise (ACE) and expanded my teaching abilities to include boot camp, intervals, functional training, aqua fit and yoga.
In December of 2013, my husband Eric and I welcomed our first child, Oliver, into our lives. Throughout my pregnancy, I wanted to be a role model to show that pregnant women can still exercise safely, and I even ran a 5K while 6 months pregnant.
Realizing the demands of a busy lifestyle, and wanting to help others make fitness part of their daily routine, I opened my own fitness company and have designed a program to build strength, stamina and flexibility. My sessions are tough, motivated by inspiring music and completed in less than 30 minutes a day. I welcome participants into my home studio and I also train through a just-launched online program where participants can log in and work out from the comfort of their own home.
My goal is to be able to reach people all over the world! Balancing a full-time job as a Nurse Educator, a wife and a mom, my philosophy is to be fit but to have fun! My clients are drawn to my positive, upbeat personality, attention to detail and constant commitment to deliver an amazing experience. I strive to continue to grow to be a positive role model for my son, and to welcome all participants into my classes as I truly believe there are no limits!
